Jo Moloney is an Australian artist based in Melbourne. Her hard-edged geometric abstractions reflect on the legacy of twentieth century modernist traditions, part art history, part imagined history, where she reworks utopic and universal formations into discreet, obsessive, and often very personal paintings.

Jo has a background in commercial photography, where her eye for composition and technical acuity led her to work on film and television sets as a unit stills photographer. Her photographs have been featured in Marie Claire magazine and formed the backbone of marketing campaigns for Australian artists and bands, and published in The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, Vault and Island magazine.

Jo’s work ‘The Outsider’ was selected as a finalist entry in the 2022 Waverley Art Prize, and eight of her works were included in the curated exhibition ‘Less is More’ at Art Lovers Australia Gallery. In March 2023, Jo presented a solo exhibition of new works based on the influence of designer Mary Quant at Five Walls, Footscray.

  • We are a Scandinavian skin clinic and I came across your work and thought it perfect for one of our big rooms upstairs! I’m looking to purchase more so I’m sure you’ll see more of me. Thanks so much. Much love.
